About

So what is proofreading?

The last stop before a manuscript is sent out into the world is proofreading. This level of editing catches those critical technical flaws that take your manuscript from outstanding to embarrassing.

After you've gone through all the editing phases your manuscript needed, you have one last stop before you're ready to publish. Proofreading helps catch those pesky typos that have slipped through the cracks.

A proofread will focus on the aspects of your manuscript including:

  • Spelling

  • Grammar

  • Punctuation

  • Layout

In a proofread, I read through your manuscript and correct any errors. Since this is the last step before publishing, proofreading usually only takes one round of edits.
